The Client Marketing and Analytics & Insights teams are creating a multi-year plan to support the Client objectives. The focus for this project is on the marketing & CRM technology stack to support the Marketing teams’ plans for reaching out to new audiences, conversion of impressions to leads, leads to prospects and prospects to members, as well as retaining existing members and volunteers. The primary technology being used is Google Analytics. The objective is to analyze website and user behavior data, track campaign effectiveness, and provide insights for data-driven decision-making.
What you'll do:
- Conduct a comprehensive assessment of the Client's existing Google Analytics instances, including events, tracking, and tagging strategies.
- Create a technical design that outlines how Google Analytics should support the project, taking into account the assessment findings and aligning with business requirements.
- Support the development of a project plan that includes implementing the technical design, addressing any shortcomings identified in the assessment.
- Implement the technical requirements and project plan by working in Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics to improve tracking and data collection across the needed Client websites.
- Perform testing, including unit and end-to-end testing, to ensure the accuracy and reliability of tracking and data collection. Create comprehensive documentation for the implemented system and testing plans.
- Support the Enterprise Data Management team in ingesting Google Analytics data into the data warehouse and linking it to customer data, segmentation, and audiences. Collaborate with the team on end-to-end testing and document the process.
- Work closely with representatives from the Client Analytics & Insights team, Client Marketing team, and application-specific product owners to ensure project deliverables align with overall initiative goals.
- Provide regular reports on the project's progress, defining milestones, tasks, and timelines at the start of the project. Seek routine sign-offs and approvals on project milestones.
- Maintain close communications with Client ‘Building the Infrastructure’ project stakeholders. Utilize various tools such as Teams, Outlook, JIRA, Confluence, Wrike, and SharePoint as required.
- Explore the option of subcontracting subject matter expertise and resources to an existing Client agency or partner for more efficient and timely engagement, if applicable
- In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with Google Analytics, including setting up accounts, configuring tracking, and interpreting data.
- Strong technical skills to implement tracking codes, tags, and events using Google Tag Manager and other relevant tools.
- Proficiency in data analysis and the ability to derive actionable insights from Google Analytics data to inform decision-making.
- Experience in conducting thorough testing, including unit and end-to-end testing, to ensure tracking accuracy and data integrity.
- Strong documentation skills to create comprehensive documentation for implemented tracking solutions and testing plans.
- Knowledge of data integration processes and the ability to collaborate with data management teams to ingest Google Analytics data into data warehouses.
- Ability to create technical designs and strategies for optimizing Google Analytics tracking based on assessment findings and business requirements.
- Effective project management skills, including the development of project plans and timelines, to ensure the successful implementation of tracking solutions.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work closely with client stakeholders, including Analytics & Insights teams, Marketing teams, and product owners.
- Knowledge of and experience with other web analytics platforms beyond Google Analytics, such as Adobe Analytics or Matomo.
- Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and tools for integrating Google Analytics data into larger data ecosystems.
Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or relevant years of work experience
